You go to doctors when something is wrong: an internist for your medical problems, a pediatrician for your child’s illness, or a podiatrist for issues with your feet and legs. It is important to find medical professionals you can trust and with whom you feel comfortable. You’ll find both in our expert staff at Aadvanced Footcare Associates in our Rego Park, Flushing, and Plainview, New York, locations.
All of our podiatrists are well-trained and certified in podiatric medicine, and each brings their own background and specialties to the practice. Each has their own personality and outside interests as well. You may find common ground that will make your visits more enjoyable, despite the problem that brings you to our office. Here is a brief snapshot of each of our doctors that will help you know a little about them, with links to a page with more information.
Hal Abrahamson, DPM
If you love sports, you will find a kindred spirit in Dr. Hal Abrahamson. His specialties are sports medicine and biomechanics, and he coaches youth soccer in his spare time. He will deal with any sports related injuries or issues you or your children experience. He also enjoys playing guitar and restoring muscle cars, so ask him about his latest project when you come in!
Ivan Abrahamson, DPM
For those who enjoy someone with years of experience, Dr. Ivan Abrahamson fits the bill. He has been a respected podiatrist for over 50 years and pioneered many podiatric procedures during that tenure. He currently serves as attending podiatrist at Forest Hills Hospital. He enjoys cruises and traveling and will be glad to share stories of places he has been and things he has seen on his trips.
Daniel E. Orozco, DPM
Dr. Daniel E. Orozco brings a background in medical research to the practice, and specializes in caring for diabetic feet, wound care, and surgery. He also works with cerebral palsy patients in the Greater Suffolk area. Personal interests include cycling through nature trails and ethnic cooking, so come in and swap recipes while he treats your feet!
Elvis Rosero, DPM
Dr. Elvis Rosero also has medical research experience and is at present a consultant at two local hospitals as well as practicing podiatry with us, focusing on sports medicine, wound care, and surgery. You can discuss your latest book find with him, as he is an avid reader. He also enjoys rollerblading and hiking in the woods.
Babak Nouri, DPM
Before his studies in podiatric medicine, Dr. Babak Nouri majored in computer science, so if you love math and computer programming, you will feel right at home! His experience and expertise involve lower limb wounds (including limb salvage and reconstruction), sports medicine, and surgery. Each year he spends some time in the Caribbean, teaching others how to manage diabetes and doing pro-bono surgery. He’s sure to have lots of stories to share while treating your feet or legs.
Rachel Perl, DPM
During her residency, Dr. Rachel Perl studied comprehensive wound care and also focused on treatment for sports injuries. She uses diagnostic tools like sonograms and fluoroscopy to determine exactly what is wrong with your feet and where, and various treatments including laser therapy and orthotics to address your foot problems from bunions to foot ulcers. When she’s not helping you with your feet, she loves outdoor activities and baking—especially cupcakes! Why not bring in one of your favorite cupcake decorating ideas for her to try?
